Modesto Agriculture and Development Organization (MADO) proudly announces the graduation of its first cohort of learners from the Functional Adult Literacy (FAL) Program in Juba County. A total of 46 adult learners—including 36 women and 10 men, among them 9 persons with disabilities (6 women and 3 men with hearing or physical impairments)—successfully completed the six-month training
The graduation ceremony, held on July 3, 2023, marked a major milestone in MADO’s efforts to combat adult illiteracy and empower marginalized groups with essential skills in reading, writing, numeracy, and life skills. Graduates expressed renewed confidence in managing businesses, supporting their families, and engaging in their communities.
“This is a celebration of resilience and dignity,” said MADO’s Executive Director, Mr. Simon Gore Kiden, commending the learners’ dedication and calling on partners to support the expansion of the program.
MADO remains committed to inclusive education as a pathway to self-reliance and social transformation in South Sudan.
